PeeWee Pedalers

Program Description

Who can forget the thrill of riding a bike for the first time? The 2013 PeeWee Pedalers course is aimed at introducing youngsters who are learning to ride bikes to the excitement and thrill of riding on a velodrome, while teaching elementary cycling skills and basic bicycle safety. The PeeWee Pedalers course is open to boys and girls ages 5-8 who are able to ride a bicycle without training wheels. The youngsters will be brought through a fun filled course that uses obstacle courses to teach the riders bicycle handling skills and safety as well as track riding basics.

After completing the PeeWee Pedalers program the children are invited to join the Professionals on a World Series of Bicycling night of racing, where participants will take several laps in front of more then a thousand spectators before completing an obstacle course to the podium area for pictures. This is known as the PeeWee Pedalers exhibition night.

The PeeWee Pedalers course is held on Saturdays and runs for five weeks at a time. Each PeeWee Pedalers class is one hour in length and held at 9-10am or 10-11am. The PeeWee Pedaler program is parent-interactive, encouraging parents to stay and help out during the session to observe what their PeeWees learn for better retention at home.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Who
Boys and girls ages 5-8. Must be able to ride a bicycle without training wheels.

Equipment
Riders must provide their own equipment, bikes and helmets.

Registration Closes
Session 1: Registration closes on May 8th at 11:45 p.m.
Session 2: Registration closes on June 12th at 11:45 p.m.
Session 3: Registration closes on July 17th at 11:45 p.m.
